Over 300 attendees gathered in May for the St. John Ambulance Charity Gala raising funds for critical programs like first aid training, therapy dog visits, and emergency response initiatives.
Led by Vancouver Realtor Corwin Kwan of Sutton Center Realty headquartered in Burnaby, the event raised over $23,000 in total with a $5000.00 matched donation from The Home Foundation.
Themed Stars of the Night, the gala illuminated Vancouver with an evening of celebration, a bagpipe procession and awards recognition of St. John Ambulance outstanding members.
”Tonight is not just about recognizing those who serve; it’s also about creating an opportunity for the community to stand with them. The gala is bringing together supporters to honour the dedication of St. John Ambulance’s staff and volunteers, and to fund the programs that make their life-saving work possible

“This is the second annual Fundraising Gala. It is a crucial evening to raise significant funds for St. John Ambulance’s lifesaving programs and services, which have served and provided first aid training to over 116,000 people across British Columbia and Yukon in the last two years alone,” adds Kwan.
“My dad was also a realtor and he prioritized his family and giving back to the community. So when opportunities arise, I also try to give back to the community. It’s a passion that I share with my wife who is often behind the scenes helping me make a difference,” says Kwan. “I have been a part of St John Ambulance for over 30 years now and I’m proud that this gala was selected by The Home Foundation for their dollar match program.”
”The Home Foundation is pleased to partner with Corwin Kwan in supporting his charitable efforts to help make a difference to youth and life saving programs in BC through St. John Ambulance
